  1. I found an article that states joint attention is pivotal for the acquisition of language. Because babies do not have linguistic skills at that time, the parents need to establish joint attention in order for their language to have meaning to the child and for the child to acquire this language. without this crucial factor the child places no meaning to what the parents are saying and have an increasingly more difficult time in learning their language.
